Fume hoods protect people who work in laboratories in many different ways.

Laboratory fume cupboards are used to control fumes, gases and aerosols. The fume cupboard is a type of local exhaust system.

All work with substances that produce toxic or harmful vapors, gases, dusts, or chemical aerosols should be performed in a laboratory fume cupboard to reduce the risk of exposure to an acceptable and safe level. For that fume cupboards also serve as physical barriers between reactions and the laboratory.

SCO TECH offers the two main types, the ducted Fume Cupboards, the most commonly used fume hood and the recirculating filtered fume cupboards that are not suitable for some substances such as highly toxic chemicals.
